Jeep Safari through the Sinai desert
South Sinai Discovery Tour
Only those who set off, will discover new land.
(Hugo von Hofmannsthal)
This journey takes us from Sharm el Sheikh to Dahab, and to the west coast of the Sinai.
We swim in the Red Sea at the El Nabk National Park where wild mangrove trees rise from the water.
On foot we explore the oasis Ain Hydra and visit the St. Catherine monastery which houses the collection of the world's oldest icons.
We marvel at the sunrise on Mount Sinai and visit the great oasis Feiran with over a hundred palm trees and stay there in the nunnery.
After we behold old inscription on the rocks in Wadi Mukattab, we drive past the Bedouin village Serabith el Khadem in the west of the Sinai and climb the mountain to the temple of Hathor with its well preserved stelae and ancient turquoise mines.
The so-called Forest of Pillars, located at Gebel Fuga east of Serabit el Khadim is one of the most remarkable geological features of the Sinai. Large amounts of tubular columns of black lava rise like stalagmites from the surrounding reddish-yellow sandstone rocks.
On this trip we will sleep outdoors and enjoy the peace and beauty of the desert.
The minimum duration of the jeep tour is 5 days. You can also combine this tour with camel trekking or beach holidays.
The rates for this tour varies depending on the duration of the trip and the number of people participating.
